Regional Representative Council of Indonesia

Topic: Establishing Societal Protection during Indonesia's Economic Recovery

The House of Regional Representatives (Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat, or DPD in Indonesian) is an Indonesian legislative body that handles issues relating to the regional governments of each of the 34 Indonesian provinces. Several large events like the COVID-19 pandemic have shone a spotlight on deep-rooted issues within the country, and as representatives of their communities, DPD members are important in both Indonesia’s current situation and new normal. Come join us as we tackle scarcity, inequality and ways to improve the nation. How can we deal with what lies ahead for Indonesia after COVID-19? That, delegates, is up to you.

Hi everyone! I’m Jasmine Kurniawan, a 10th grader from National High Jakarta School. Ever since I began my MUN journey in 2018, I’ve managed to win awards in and chair numerous local and international conferences, and I’m also the Secretary-General of the Jakarta Model Parliament (JMP). I’m really excited to be hearing your discussions on relevant Indonesian issues as one of the chairs of the DPD, and feel free to DM me (@jasmine.kurniawan) if you have any questions. I can’t wait to meet you all!

Hello everyone! My name is Rafael, and I am a political science major at Pasadena City College. As chair in EduSummit, I will be overseeing the DPD committee in tandem with my fellow chairs, ensuring that your experience as a delegate is meaningful and engaging. I promise to bring value, experience, and professionalism to this event. My core message to all delegates is a quote from American poet Kanye West: “I’m giving all that I have in this life. I’m opening up my notebook, and I’m saying everything in there out loud.” I hope to see all of you at EduSummit very soon!

Hey! I’m Mia and I go to BBS PIK as a 10th grader. While attending MUNs and HMCA  throughout this year, I have found a great passion in dynamic debates through chairing and I hope to share that enthusiasm with you! As well as being EduSummit’s chair, I am the Head of Creative Design for Blueprint Model Association and have previously chaired BMA’s recent Crisis Council. I can’t wait to meet and divulge into Indonesia’s ongoing political concerns with you! :]
